Software versioning / naming
A new software versioning scheme was introduced, it requires that a new versioning name should be adopted for each software product.
Software product version will be now identified with the string:
V x[.y] R m.f.h
in which field:
- x[.y] denotes the Major release level
- m denotes the Minor release level
- f denotes the Fix release level
- h denotes the Hotfix level
This naming convention scheme does not imply any naming requirements for file / files available. |

- LDAP client simple search (RQ00027118) User interface change, for easier LDAP access
- SSH access (RQ00025302) Secure Shell or SSH is a network protocol that allows data to be exchanged over a secure channel between two computers. Encryption provides confidentiality and integrity.
- Preview key functionality (RQ00025112) (Openscape Voice only) This enhancement introduces the ability for users to decide whether they pre-view lines before using them. They do this by switching the Preview mode on and off using an FPK
- Directed call pickup enhancements (RQ00025095) (Openscape Voice V4.0 only) This feature extends the Directed Pickup feature as implemented in OpenStage SIP V1R4 to allow the OpenStage user (keyset or non keyset) to pickup calls which have been manually held by a keyset user in the Openscape Voice environment.
- AICS ZIP tone (RQ00021476) This feature increases productivity of agents receiving calls distributed by an ACD system or for hunt group members. It allows an agent using a headset to put the phone into a mode where incoming calls are automatically answered without ringing and without any key press, and without the Openscape Voice providing any additional signalling information specific to the auto answer.
- Ringer preview (RQ00026726) The requirement is to change the ringer selection UI provided by the user menu, such that while the user is browsing the tones/melodies or files, they are automatically played to indicate what the chosen ringer will sound like.
- Distinctive ringing (RQ00023757, RQ00026540) The SIP Server may provide information within an incoming call indication or ringer request that a specific ringer is to be used. A table is maintained in the phone to provide a list of different ring types that may be selected by the switch for use with an incoming call.
- Dial plan (RQ00024810) The Dial Plan feature allows an OpenStage phone to determine the completeness of a dialled number so that the phone can start the dialling process without the user explicitly having to select a further option such as "dial" or "OK" after entering the last digit.
- Copy contact (RQ00024315) With this feature a Personal Phone Book contact can be automatically created using the contact details from LDAP or Call Log.
- Terminal host name (RQ00024220) This feature allows the string that the phone attempts to register with the DNS via DDNS to be customised by Admin.
- URL on FPK (RQ00026538) The basic requirement for the FPKs is that all keys (including those on any sidecar units attached) can be configured with a URL (termed "send URL" key). Pressing the key sends the URL to the server using an HTTP request.
- TAB navigation (RQ00024373) The tab bar becomes an item that can be highlighted by scrolling upwards in the screen. Tabs can be scrolled in either direction using the Left and Right arrow keys.
- Back arror to call view (RQ00024374) A normal (not long) press of the Left arrow key whilst any line (not the tab navigation bar) of a top level screen of a phonelet is highlighted and active should change the mode focus to the Call View application.
- DSS call forwarding status option (RQ00025099) (Openscape Voice only) The forwarding state will be indicated using the DSS Key led, and will also be reflected in the associated DSS/LINE overview screen.
- Call forwarding information during connect display (RQ00025108) (Openscape Voice only) This is an enhancement to the existing capability to indicate call forwarding history in the alerting display for in incoming call.
- Hotline/Warmline (RQ00025109, RQ00024850) This features gives the ability for the OpenStage Phone to auto-dial either immediately the user goes off-hook (Hot Line/Phone) or after a period of inactivity by the user (Warm Line/Phone). Release Note page 33 (of 33) OpenStage SIP V2R0.16.0
- TLS Survivabiliy (RQ00024754) (Openscape Voice only) This feature request is required to extend the "Survivability using a Survivable Proxy" so that it is fully conformant with the OSCAR 4.0 chapter 11.1.15.
- Configuration MWI count names (RQ00026537) The new options introduced will allow the text for the labels displayed against the counts by the Messaging Phonelet (associated with the four counts of New, New urgent, Old and Old Urgent) to be specified, and to allow any combination of the four counts (and associated labels) to be marked as shown or hidden.
- Key module paper (RQ00026529) The support for this key module is restricted to Openstage 40 and Openstage 15. Only one key module can be connected.
- OpenStage 15 (RQ00025658) Support for Openstage 15 is introduced.
- Support of CS5 in QoS Layer 3 settings (RQ00026749) Support for code point CS5 is introduced
- Renaming of skins (RQ00028438) New names for display themes.
- Fixed_Forward (RQ00026539) (Asterisk only) The fixed forwarding key is capable of having the key programmed as alternative function to the default built-in forwarding.
- HPT_Remote_Control (RQ00024398) The feature is based on the use of the HPT test tool which can set up a remote connection with a phone and allows the tool user to manipulate and monitor the Phone in use.
- Remote_Trace_Activation (RQ00025931) The configuration of the remote trace feature is made available via Admin WBM and also via the DLS interface.
- 3rd_Call_Leg (RQ00025092) This feature allows the phone to provide a 3rd call for some limited scenarios associated with Call Waiting or picked up calls.
- Proxy_Mode_Enhancements (Openscape Voice only) (RQ00027518) This feature improves the robustness of the survivability solution by providing a reliable mechanism for the phones to synchronise with the survivability mode of the survivable proxy during the normal SIP registration cycle.
- Managing_User_Data_By_DLS_Step1 (RQ00026280) Additonal items from the user configuration menu can be managed by the DLS.
- DCMP (RQ00023213) This feature enhances the existing OpenStage phone’s DLS interface by providing a means for the OpenStage SIP Phone to make use of a DLS Server which is deployed behind a Firewall/NAT.
- Improved Logging (RQ00025298, RQ00028432) Improves the level of information available for error analysis.
- Web based management (RQ00028569) Access to the phone web pages is possible via HTTPS only. HTTP is not longer supported. Connections to the http port are automatically redirected to the https port.
- Multi_Line_Bridging (Openscape Voice V4.0 only) (RQ00023570) This feature allows a Keyset user to Bridge into (join) an existing call, by pressing the line key of a shared line appearance which is busy with that call.
- Konftel support (RQ00027704) Support for the Konftel conference unit is introduced; for Bluetooth connection only.
- OpenStage 40: Immediate start of energy saver(RQ00027978)
- Download WBM certificate using DLS(RQ00028737) DLS can load a WBM certificate into the phone RQ00025304, RQ00027070 File Management setup 1 User feedback is given about how much of the available file space is used/available. For this feature OpenStage Manager V2 is required.

- The default setting for LLDP-MED is now “ON”. As a result, the VLAN discovery method default is now “LLDP_MED discovered”.
- from V1R5.x on the user has to manually configure the device type which is connected to the headset port (via the "Settings --> User --> Audio --> Settings --> Headset socket"). It is important to set the parameter correctly to achieve the best voice quality. DECT Headsets have to be set to "Cordless headset", while the Wired headsets have to be set to "Wired headset". The third setting "Conference unit" is prepared to connect a conference unit from Konftel in the future (this will be released separately as soon as an appropriate cable is available from Konftel). Bluethooth headsets are not affected by this configuration parameter
