NAPT = Network Adress Port Translation

Explanation

This is a method of NAT including port number translation. It involves assigning a private IP address to the NAT router LAN-side, and a public IP to the router WAN-side. Computers with private IP addresses can reside behind the NAT router, however, they must know the internal router address. The NAT router manages the port number assignments for the individual computers.

Erläuterung

Ein NAT Verfahren mit Übersetzung der Portnummer. Hierbei wird dem NAT-Router LAN-seitig eine private IP-Adresse zugewiesen, WAN-seitig eine öffentliche. Hinter dem NAT-Router kann es viele Computer mit privaten IP-Adressen geben, sie müssen nur alle die interne Router-Adresse eingetragen haben. Der NAT-Router verwaltet die Portnummern der einzelnen Rechner.
