Easy Deployment
This improvement enables the handset to automatically find the Device Manager and download its configuration. Easy Deployment includes three steps:
- WLAN discovery
- Device Manager discovery
- Parameter download
At start-up, the handset begins to search for a network. Once a network connection is established, it proceeds to find a Device Manger. This information can be obtained through a DHCP lease or discovery message. When the Device Manager address is found, the login screen is presented for the user. The user then logs in with the desired number, for which all parameters are downloaded to the handset from the Device Manager.

Centralized management of certificates
Before this release it was only possible to manage client certificates by use of the WinPDM via a local USB connection. The option to remotely modify/change client certificates on a handset from the Device Manager is now possible.
=== Handset connection lost after switch to secondary WLAN controller === After a WLAN controller failure, the handset would switch to the standby controller with the old IP address or no IP address, thus loss of connections to the PBX and WSG. The handset will now use periodic ICMP pings to detect WLAN controller failure and perform DHCP lease renewal in order to achieve proper failover to the secondary controller.
Indication of secure calls
Before this release there was no support for indication of secure calls. Now it will be possible for OpenStage systems to indicate through a display icon that a secure call was negotiated with the WL3. And, likewise, an icon on the WL3 screen was added for the same purpose.
Display name AND number for an outgoing call (Connecting)
Before only the name OR number were displayed for an outgoing call, while both name AND number can now be presented. The name is shown below, if it is found in the local phone book or in the SIP header, whereas the number is always shown on top. Lookup order: 1. Local phone book 2. SIP header information 3. Only number
Distinctive ringing for Emergency calls
Addition of a separate ring signal for incoming emergency callback calls that can be configured in the Device Manager. It is used to distinguish the emergency ring signal from other handset ring signals. New parameter: Audio -> General -> Emergency ring signal
OAP:Use device property message to switch alarmas on/off
Addition of the feature System profiles and Remote mode change in order to remotely set a system profile on a handset. This feature allows system administrators to remotely apply a profile based on, for instance, time or location, e.g. alarm ON/OFF, volume settings, etc. and enforce certain settings on a particular handset and, furthermore, prevent accessibility to changing these settings.
Change button naming for certificate handling on WinPDM/WSG Server
Change the “Edit certificates” and the “Edit” buttons in WSG and PDM to “Certificate Management” and “download”.
The endpoint number can now be configured from the handset admin menu. Press “40022” while in the Settings menu of the handset: VoIP -> Endpoint Number.
