Release: | V3 R0 |
Up to V2 R2, OpenStage phones supported DTMF as per RFC 4733 for sending DTMF information to the remote party when the user performed some key pad input.
In V3R0 OpenStage supports this also for the receiving direction. The receiver (B-party) is now able to play out tones (i.e. hear the DTMF tones).
This feature aims at the capability to play DTMF digits received (B-party) using RFC 2833 coding (i.e. Rtp events) in the current active audio device (headset, loudspeaker, handset).
DTMF (as RTP events) are now recognized by the receiving phone (B-party), if in the admin menu the parameter Enable DTMF is set to Yes.
Description | In the RTP stream a DTMF tone is recognized |
Trigger | Receiving a DTMF tone |
Preconditions: | 1. Active Call 2. play-dtmf is set to TRUE |
Normal Flow: | 1. OpenStage phone user is in an active call 2. DTMF tone is received 3. Tone is played through the current active audio device accord-ing to RFC 2833 (but only the duration of the tone is used, the level will be adjusted to satisfy compliance). There is no impact on local conference – i.e. the audio DTMF tone is not sent out to other conference members as an inband tone. This tone will override any payload received at the same time (audio will NOT be mixed). For a local conference only the direct partner will receive the DTMF, not all participants will hear to tone. |
Postconditions | 1. OpenStage User hears a tone |
A new configuration item is introduced to allow administrators to switch off/on audible DTMF tones under
Phone menu: Admin > Speech > Audio settings
A similar item is included in the WBM.
