The 6970 IP conference phone is a perfect addition to the OpenScape CP telephone family. The phone is integrated into the customer network via LAN/WiFi. It is connected to the Unify systems via SIP. The following systems are supported:

The device can be extended with 6970 Extension Microphones. They allow you to extend audio pickup for large conference rooms and other challenging audio environments. Each extension microphone has a mute button and an LED indicator that displays the status of the call.

Setup and Configuration Guide

Download Setup and Configuration Package

Unify has released the Mitel 6970 Conference Phone for the OpenScape platforms. The phone is currently not part of the OpenScape Deployment Service for configuration. It’s planned to involve the Mitel devices into OpenScape Endpoint Management in future. Please download the setup and configuration package which is needed to configure the 6970 IP conference unit here.

Firmware Download

The Mitel 6900 series firmware is stored on the Unify partner portal. Please use this SW for installation. Open the software supply service and enter the extended search screen. Navigate to

‘Clients and Devices’ -> Mitel 6900 IP Phones -> Mitel IP Conference Phone -> Mitel IP Conference Phone SIP. Chose the latest firmware version in that category and press the ‘Search’ button. Finally click on ‘Details’ to enter the download section. The Mitel 6970 Conference phone software can be found in the file list. Click on the software file and follow the download instructions on the following screens to start the download. Please allow popup windows for the software supply server to get the download window finally.
