- Security enhancements Update to a new OpenSSL version, provides additional security for all https based connections in direction to and from OpenScape Business. Update of various SIP provider profiles and support of additional new profiles for providers. For more information see https://wiki.unify.com/wiki/Collaboration_with_VoIP_Providers
- Update of the operating system for OpenScape Business S and UC Booster Server: Following the discontinuation of SLES 12 by SUSE, we support SLES 15 SP6 with the new release. For the upgrade to SLES 15, we follow the manufacturer's recommendation to reinstall the operating system and then restore an OpenScape Business backup. According to SUSE, SLES 15 will be supported for the next few years until at least 2028.
- Unify Phone Cloud Connector security and path optimization: In addition to the already implemented encryption for the signalling of telephone calls, from the V3R4 release we also offer additional ‘end-to-end security’ encryption of voice packets based on DTLS-SRTP. Thanks to the already integrated media server from previous software versions, media data, e.g. calls between Unify Phone and/or OpenScape Business end devices, can now be handled locally and directly without the payload connection to the cloud. This not only improves the voice quality, but also optimizes the media paths (jitter, lower latency) and reduces the bandwidth requirement for local Internet exits. The listed functionality is only possible with OpenScape Business V3 Mainboard and OpenScape Business S.
- myPortal for Teams GUI optimization for mobile end devices: myPortal for Teams is the web-based client for use as a stand-alone client, as well as for integration into Microsoft Teams. In addition to the previous desktop version, the application is now also be optimized for use on mobile devices (smartphone, tablet). This gives customers access to UC functionalities such as changing their own presence and viewing the status of other participants, as well as to their favourites. Thanks to the CTI functionality, myPortal for Teams can also call control other devices. In order to use myPortal for teams on a mobile device quite easy, an App icon with the link to myPortal for Teams can be added
- Call control from myAgent and myPortal for Teams for Unify Phone: With V3R4 we are now also releasing the remaining myPortal clients, myAgent and myPortal for Teams for call control with Unify Phone as the device to be controlled. Thanks to the flexible use of Unify Phone and the OpenScape Business UC clients, additional user scenarios arise, especially for use in the home office area. While the customer can use the full UC functionality of the myPortal UC clients, the device to be controlled is always the Unify Phone in the desktop version (web or PWA client). After answering the call on the desktop client, the call can be seamlessly transferred to the mobile device
- Access to the global directory: In addition to the normal speed dialling destinations, OpenScape Business offers a very comprehensive integrated directory with many data fields, which was previously only provided for the Advanced variant of the SMB V3 Mainboard/Controller. With V3R4, access is now possible for all OpenScape Business Mainboard Controllers, including the Basic variant. With this extension, LDAP-based clients, such as Mitel SIP-DECT handsets, can now also access the very extensive directory
- Reminder end of support V2 Mainboard - 31.12.2026: As already communicated for a long time, the V2 Mainboard of OpenScape Business will no longer be supported at the end of 31.12.2026. From this date, remote access (via Mitel remote platforms such as RSP) will no longer be possible and software and security updates can no longer be provided. We recommend that customers upgrade to the new V3 Mainboard with many advantages and functional enhancements (Unify Phone security, Microsoft Teams connectivity, ITSP provider updates, security enhancements with each new release).

This is possible because of the available performance and resources provided with our new V3 hardware (new mainboard). As a first visible proof point we provide early media support for ITSP and we are in preparation to support OPUS as the preferred codec for our Desk Phone CP series.
