Disinfectants are used in medical facilities such as hospitals, outpatient departments, care facilities, or also in food production and in canteens. Disinfectants contain ingredients that not only combat microorganisms, but can also attack surfaces.

High-quality materials are used for the UNIFY DECT Handsets to protect them in daily use. The UNIFY DECT Handsets are additionally protected by a surface coating against the effects of a number of commercially available disinfectants.

To test the effectiveness of the surface coating, a number of agents were tested during the product development with the surfaces of the UNIFY DECT Handsets. These tests range from several types of artificial hand perspiration (alkaline, basic) to olive oil or cream.
