The changes do not apply to the old CCFL-based displays. The behaviour and values for this older HW remain unchanged. The [[Blue Angel]] Certification also requires that the factory default value for the ringer volumes is a maximum of 50%. The OpenStage range of IP phones already satisfies this criteria!

Family: OpenStage
Model: OpenStage 40
Relation: SIP related
Release: V2 R2

With version V2R2 and OpenStage 40 SIP the user now has greater control over the display brightness and backlight timeout in order to further reduce power savings.

The display backlight timeout can now be set to better suit the user’s needs and the default values have also been reduced. For OpenStage 40 backlight can be set to turn off after:

  • 1 minute (default)
  • 5 minutes
  • 30 minutes
  • 60 minutes
  • 2 hours
  • 4 hours
  • 8 hours
The OpenStage 40 display remains readable (in ambient light) when the backlight is off. OpenStage 15/20 is not affected because these models do not have a display backlight.

With SW version (coming later in 2011) the power save mode will also be available on OpenStage 60 & 80. This will be synchronized with the introduction of the new displays with LED backlight on OpenStage 60 and 80.

The changes do not apply to the old CCFL-based displays. The behaviour and values for this older HW remain unchanged. The Blue Angel Certification also requires that the factory default value for the ringer volumes is a maximum of 50%. The OpenStage range of IP phones already satisfies this criteria!
