The following procedure is needed to upgrade an optiPoint WL2 professional (HFA version to an optiPoint WL2 professional S (SIP version).

The upgrade needs an updated factory data file system in the phone in order to work correctly.To get these upgrade to your phone there are a specialized intermediate software version. For safety reasons please save former settings over WBM backup. Therefore the software upgrade is done in two steps according to the following description.

1. Upgrade to the intermediate version prep70_39.img
 
 
 
Install first the intermediate version prep70_39.img via the common way either by WBM or by DLS. You can see the progress of this upgrade in the phone display. When the phone starts up with this version the factory data file system content is set to the default values of a standard SIP version and the default ringer tones and images are copied to the data files. The following message will be displayed:
 
* Temp. SW only!
 
* Please Update!
 
and can be confirmed with "OK". It is not necessary to confirm it for the upgrade to the final version.
 
 
 
2. Finalize the upgrade to the final version with a standard SW file e.g. swup_70-000-052

Because of security reasons are all settings and user data not changed during this upgrade.
 
 
 
The activation of the default phone settings have to be carried out manually via WBM or DLS.

System Settings - Reset User Data - User Settings Clear
 
 
 
or
 
 
 
Factory Reset - Restore the factory defaults
