On this page you will find some very useful information for the HFA V1R6 CP-phone Software field trials.

New Features

Following this link you can find an overview of the new features: New Features

Detailed feature description:

Feature Content description
Rebranding to ATOS Design Currently, on CP phones, the logo, colour scheme and start-up screens conform to the Unify brand.

This feature replaces the existing logo, colour scheme and start up screens with a new ATOS logo, colour scheme and screens.

Support generic Door Opener HTTP/S request This feature makes the configuration settings for the Door opener more general to support other vendors devices control methods.
User Interface improvement - Clear LED when there is an unanswered call On a CP-HI phone, the Red Alert LED and the Missed Calls counter indicates there are unanswered calls and how many.

This feature provides a configuration item to control extinguishing the LED and clearing Missed Calls upon entering and exiting the Conversations screen.

HPT: Access phones behind a NAT This feature allows a phone behind a NAT to be accessed.
Identify handling scenarios for call identity changes CP HFA phones log dialled, received, missed, and forwarded calls. Currently, the information recorded is limited to the dialled number for dialled calls and the last party involved in the call for the other types of calls.

This feature extends the information recorded in the call log to include all parties involved in a call chain for pickup, forwarding, transfer, multiline, pilot call, compound, rerouting, canonical conversion, and name change scenarios.

Date & Time on idle screen for CP600 / CP700 On CP600 and CP700 phones, the user can set the screen type (Menu screen or Slideshow) that is displayed when the phone is inactive.

This feature adds a new screen type (Time screen) that can be displayed in the inactive mode. The Time screen consists of date and time information.

Configurable order of first name and second name for UC contacts On CP600 and CP700 HFA phones, Free Programmable Keys (FPKs) may be assigned to the softkeys or programmable keys next to the display and the label associated with the key is shown on the display. Key Modules (KMs) may be attached to the side of the phone and FPKs may be configured on them. The label associated with the keys on the KMs is shown on the key module display.

The labels on the KMs are constructed in the system whereas the labels on the main display are constructed in the phone using the information received in the order it is received. Currently, UI inconsistencies are possible when the phone receives ,firstname> and <last name> and displays it in this order whilst the gateway constructs a single <displayname> with a different order. This feature adds a configurable item in the phone to allow the Administrator to select the right order of <lastname>, <firstname> or <firstname initial> for the main display to match the system settings for the key module display.

Reset user data Currently, a CP phone user can reset all of their user data on the phone to the factory settings. It deletes all personal information including contacts, conversations, ringer files and slideshow images. It also restores deleted default ringer files.

Users have requested a smaller granularity in the user reset function to selectively delete some of their personal information without deleting everything.

Screen Shot Tool This feature adds the ability to take a screenshot of the current phone screen.
System phonebook via WSI for OpenScape 4000 The Web Services Interface (WSI) provides functions for Unified Communication (UC) users of OpenScape Business. It enables external applications to monitor and control devices of the UC users as well as get information about their presence status, journal, and phone book entries.
Admin Network settings redesign The current Admin -> Network settings menu tree was created when the CP phones only supported a LAN connection. Subsequently, Wi-Fi has been introduced for some models and there are plans for a Wi-Fi dongle. The resultant menu tree does not have a logical structure.

This feature restructures the Admin menu for Network settings to group the common settings together and separate them from the specific settings for LAN or Wi-Fi.

Synchronize Contacts with BT paired mobile device This feature allows a CP phone user to transfer their mobile phone contacts list to the CP phone by Bluetooth.
Uses of info area and priorities The info area on the display is used to provide additional information that is pertinent to the screen. The info area is supported on both SIP and HFA CP-HI models. On HFA, system and local messages are displayed in the info area. The info area can only display information for a single usage at a time.

This feature ensures CP-HI phone users see the most appropriate information in the info area. The types of information are categorised, and each information type is assigned a relative priority.

New ECDSA Certificate introduction Currently, CP phones support RSA based certificates.

This feature extends the certificate support on CP phones to include ECDSA based certificates. They are used by TLSv1.2 and DTLS and required for compatibility with Circuit. It also fulfils the Standards & Technology requirements.

Toast message error handling CP400, CP600 and CP700 phones have two different types of notification objects: sausage and toast.

Currently, the toast notification overlaps and obscures the sausage notification. Also, the second toast notification to be displayed replaces any current toast notifications being displayed which means the user may not have read the first toast notification, and they cannot re-display it. This feature changes the display layout to remove any overlaps between the toast and sausage notification objects by shifting the toast notification upwards. In addition, it allows two different toast notifications to be displayed at the same time.

Support of SCEP on Unify Phones This feature adds SCEP support on CP phones.
Browser based file download for user This feature enables CP-HI phone users to easily download files to their CP phones through a browser window.
Allow contact avatar to be changed The User Interface for CP600 and CP700 phones is based on Circuit’s conversation paradigm. A conversation is a contact with a call history. New contacts may be imported onto the phone through WBM or synchronised with the phone when searching for a subscriber using LDAP. Currently, LDAP searches may return an avatar image whereas, avatar images are not included in the import.

This feature extends the current file upload mechanism for CP600 and CP700 phone users to include avatar images. It also allows the user to link (or unlink) an avatar image to a contact and remove existing avatar images from the phone.

Introduce "Silent notifications" for audio events A customer has reported an issue when using a Plantronics focus UC Bluetooth headset connected to a CP700 and OSBiz. With every single DTMF tone dialled, the headset goes on mute (and announces it) before the digit is sent and then goes on unmute (and announces it) after the digit is sent. This behaviour is very unpleasant to anyone using a “smart” headset entering DTMF.

The phone cannot distinguish between a real mute and a DTMF mute sent from the OSBiz. This feature enhances the CorNet-TS message AU_STATE_CONTROL with a new flag to indicate DTMF related mute/unmute. It has the meaning “notification allowed” and “notification not allowed”.

Speed dial numbers from WSI OSBiz has a speed dial list of up to 8000 entries; each entry has a speed dial index, a name and dialable number. OSBiz has one specific class-of-service which restricts the user’s right to make outgoing external calls to configured speed dial numbers. Customers often use this class-of-service to prevent users dialling external fully qualified numbers that are not in the speed dial list. The speed dial indexes are identified in the WSI responses.

This feature adds an additional contact field for speed dial numbers received through WSI. This field is hidden from the user. Only the extension number or fully qualified number is visible to the user. The speed dial number is used for dialling.

OPUS codec for HFA OPUS is a codec that is especially designed to work well over the internet by monitoring the network performance and adjusting its quality parameters to get the best audio for the current condition.
Edit screen options Currently, when a CP-HI phone user is editing in an input box on the phone’s display they are presented with all the edit options; some of which are unusable.

This enhancement ensures the CP-HI user is only presented with the edit options that are appropriate to the status of the input box.

Wi-Fi Optimisation to avoid audio dropouts due to channel/AP changes This feature allows an Administrator to control the advanced Wi-Fi options related to roaming and radio environment to minimise downtime caused by transitions between Access Points when there are changes in a wireless environment
